Social Stats: 175 Facebook shares and 90 likes prior to our March 2012 relaunch
By now, more than 508,000 people have watched this YouTube video featuring some pretty sexy Hakka boys from K.K. strutting their stuff to LMFAO’s Sexy and I Know It. Since this parody video went viral, several media channels have covered their success story. So why would we want to do it too?
Firstly, because we want to commend Synergy Dance Studios for a job well done. A few months ago, I got in touch with the Artistic Director/Founder of Synergy Dance Theatre, Christopher Liew, looking to learn about the fabulous things he was doing with dance in K.K.
We have yet to meet up because of our busy schedules, but I want to congratulate him and his team for their success.

Secondly, we’d like to encourage creative people in K.K. to use social media with no holds barred. Stop being wusses, go ahead and do what you love and create away – this is a good example of how video can make a difference in your campaign.
Case in point, up until two weeks ago, people who aren’t into dance or event management wouldn’t know who these Synergy Studio guys are and now they are world famous among the Hakka-speaking community, and more.

Just a few days ago, I caught sight of a few of the guys (including the lead singer) in the Dah Yeh Villa area. I could recognize them instantly, and must admit I had a little chuckle thinking about how much fun they must be having moving forward, now that they are YouTube stars. Aren’t you proud of them? We are!
